SINGING
In a singing lesson I teach the fundamentals such as breathing, posture, and diction. This is important when studying any vocal style, whether you prefer Pop, Theatre, or Classical, as you need to know how to get the best from your voice. Almost anyone can sing, so
give it a go!
Vocal training
through
singing lessons is a great way of improving self-confidence and
self-esteem. It is often useful if your job involves using your voice
in professions such as teaching, presenting, theatrical work,
chairman, travel industry, demonstrator etc....
FLUTE
The flute is an extremely versatile instrument to learn. It is used in Orchestras, small Chamber groups, Jazz, sometimes Pop, and in essence is also a beautiful solo instrument. Some people particularly enjoy flute because it opens up so many social and performance avenues – great for meeting people as well as developing your playing. In a lesson I teach breathing,
articulation and help improve your tone to name a few elements.
PIANO
The piano is an excellent solo instrument
but can equally form part of a group as there are so many styles of
music written for the piano. In a piano lesson I teach technique such
as the touch required to produce a particular sound, technical
exercises and help in improving coordination.
KEYBOARD
The keyboard is a modern and funky instrument. The main difference between the piano and keyboard lies in the left hand work. With the keyboard the left hand plays static chords along with a backing rhythm, producing an almost ready-made accompaniment. It also gives the opportunity to experiment with different
pre-programmed instrumental sounds and rhythms.
MUSIC THEORY
I am more than happy to teach music theory
in isolation, but I feel it can be complimentary to learning an instrument (or voice). It
supports and enhances the overall learning process.
